GM Selects A&D Technology As Supplier for World's Largest Battery Test Lab

A&D Technology, Inc. is pleased to announce that we were selected by General Motors to supply a total of 64 data acquisition and control systems for their new, state-of-the-art battery test lab.   The 33,000 sq-ft Global Battery Systems Lab, which GM recently unveiled, will be used to develop and test nickel-metal-hydride and lithium-ion technologies for hybrids, plug-in hybrids, electric vehicles and fuel-cell powered cars and trucks.  The A&D test automation system coordinates thermal chambers, power process systems and conditioning units, and interfaces with battery control modules and lab safety systems.
 
The systems supplied by A&D are based on iTest, our most advanced data acquisition and control software.   The solution also includes A&D’s iCentral, which facilitates the overall lab management function by controlling the facility’s battery cyclers, environmental chambers, etc.   The goal is to provide a streamlined, flexible and cost-effective solution that will enhance the testing capabilities of the lab, as well as the maintainability and serviceability of the systems.
