Model Based Sensors

A&D has developed a very unique approach to measure forces for high quality multiple component force measurement. This approach differs from conventional methods as it does not use the classical way to detect the different components by design of the sensor. For MBS the force is assumed as share force and it is detected by multiple strain gauges at the same time. These gauge signals are digitally converted directly in the sensor and transferred to a real time DSP system. Utilizing a sensor model the DSP system calculates the desired force components in real time.

This approach together with A&D's know-how in strain gauges and analog to digital conversion results in products with unique properties such as:

  • High stiffness
  • High resolution
  • Low temperature effect
